Stellar Recruitment wish to advise all jobseekers to take caution when receiving abnormal messages via social media platforms and messaging services in regard to potential job opportunities.

Multiple Recruitment Agencies have recently come under attack from scammers pretending to work for their company, targeting individuals over WhatsApp guaranteeing work that requires little effort for a large financial reward.

The names used in the messages (examples below) use false names with no affiliation to Stellar Recruitment. However, in some circumstances, these scammers may use the names of real recruiters within the company. Please be aware that no consultants within Stellar Recruitment conduct communication via WhatsApp. 

With many Australians actively looking for employment within this competitive job market, there is no better time for scammers to take advantage of those who are vulnerable. The ACCC Scamwatch are warning people to protect all personal information and to stop and think before engaging in any communication.

If someone contacts you via WhatsApp claiming to be from Stellar Recruitment with messages similar to the below examples, please either:

• Block and report the number to WhatsApp.
• Report the scam to Scamwatch.
• Contact us on +61 7 3009 9600 if you would like to confirm if you were contacted by a scammer or send us a screenshot of the messages to admin@stellarrecruitment.com.au
• Contact your bank if you entered any financial information.

Things to Remember:

-         Stellar Recruitment do not conduct any formal correspondence via messaging services such as WhatsApp.

-         All information provided in these messages are fictitious and have no relation to any roles advertised or affiliated to Stellar Recruitment.

-         Never share any personal, credit card, or financial information with anyone you do not know, especially online.
