The Opportunity:
We have an exciting full-time, permanent opportunity for an experienced Workshop Leading Hand or Senior Mechanic at our Mackay Branch. Lead and mentor a team of heavy vehicle and diesel mechanics to deliver high-quality service while meeting productivity and safety targets.
What You'll Do:
- Lead and mentor mechanics and apprentices, fostering their development.
- Oversee daily service work, including diagnosis, servicing, and repairs.
- Manage workshop operations to ensure efficiency and quality.
- Support the leadership team with reports and timekeeping.
- Ensure top-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
- 5+ years’ experience in the heavy vehicle or engine industry.
- Trade-qualified Diesel Mechanic (or similar).
- Previous Leading Hand or Senior Mechanic experience is highly desirable.
- HR license (or ability to obtain one).
- Strong leadership and coaching skills.
- Experience with Western Star, MAN, MTU, Dennis Eagle, Detroit Diesel, and Allison product lines.
