Network Waitaki is in the vibrant coastal town of Oamaru, the Client is an innovative electricity distribution and energy services business that powers the local economy. We supply electricity to over 13,000 customers across North Otago and parts of South Canterbury, delivering not only reliable energy but also forward-thinking solutions for our community. Alongside our core business, we also have a growing Contracting division providing electricity distribution network services across New Zealand.
They are looking for an experienced Information Technology Infrastructure Lead to join their team and help ensure that our IT infrastructure is performing optimally, supporting the business’s technology needs and goals.
About the Role: As an IT Infrastructure Lead, you will play a key role in delivering reliable and high-performance IT infrastructure services to support business projects and day-to-day operations. You’ll work closely with our Information and Digital Technology (IDT) team to ensure that cyber security measures are robust, IT systems are maintained, and the needs of the business are met.
You will be responsible for:

• Infrastructure Management: Supporting end-user devices, networks, servers, and applications to ensure seamless operation.
• Cyber Security: Ensuring that security controls are effective and well-managed.
• Project Delivery: Leading small to mid-sized infrastructure projects, ensuring successful outcomes.
• Service Delivery: Providing excellent support to internal customers, managing relationships with external technology providers, and ensuring the smooth operation of technology systems.

• Provide infrastructure support for business system projects and act as a subject matter expert for infrastructure technology.

• Manage external technology providers to ensure effective and seamless service delivery.
• Provide level 2 support for end-user devices and applications, ensuring quick resolution of issues.

• Ensure exceptional internal customer service, addressing support needs in a timely manner.
• Work with vendors and service providers, particularly Network Waitaki’s Managed Service Provider (MSP), to resolve issues and improve service delivery.

• Effectively manage your own workload to meet project deadlines and customer service expectations.
• Ensure all IT changes are documented and implemented according to policy.

• Perform additional duties as required to support the IT infrastructure function.

• 5+ years of experience in IT service desk, network, and server support.
• Experience managing external vendors and service providers.
• Some project management experience is an advantage.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proven ability to build collaborative relationships with both internal teams and external partners.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• A tenacious problem solver who can see issues through to resolution.
• A strong customer service focus.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology or related field
