About the Role As the IT Help Desk Support Technician, you will be an essential part of ensuring the smooth operation of the organisation's IT systems. This role offers an opportunity for someone motivated and team-oriented to resolve IT-related issues efficiently, providing support across hardware, software, networking, and system needs.
You will be the first point of contact for internal staff when it comes to technology-related challenges, supporting our teams with troubleshooting, managing IT assets, assisting with procurement, and contributing to the smooth running of our IT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-line technical support for hardware, software, and networking issues.
- Respond promptly to help desk tickets, emails, and phone calls, ensuring timely and courteous support.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with computer systems, printers, and peripherals.
- Assist with software installations, configurations, and upgrades.
- Educate users on best practices for utilising technology effectively.
- Manage and track IT asset inventory, including hardware and software licenses.
- Assist with the procurement and deployment of IT equipment as necessary.
- Support new staff setups, including email and device configuration.
- Handle help desk tickets, ensuring all issues are logged, escalated, and resolved as needed.
- Offer remote support, including troubleshooting software and hardware issues.
- Provide account administration for various internal systems.
- Maintain documentation for IT inventory, purchase orders, warranties, and equipment retirements.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A friendly and confident telephone manner.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and resolve conflicts effectively.
- A proactive, flexible attitude with a focus on team collaboration.
- A genuine commitment to providing excellent service to staff and contributing to a positive work environment.
- Previous experience in a similar IT support role is highly desirable.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other common IT tools.
