As a Hydrovac Excavation Operator
, you will be responsible for safely operating a hydrovac truck
to perform non-destructive excavation, exposing underground utilities such as pipes, cables, and conduits without causing damage. You will also play a key role in maintaining equipment, ensuring job site safety, and assisting with various site tasks when required.

The Role:
This role requires flexibility —while operating the hydrovac truck is your primary duty, you will also be expected to support general construction tasks such as manual labor, spotting for machinery, site housekeeping, and assisting other trades to ensure smooth project execution.
- Operate plant and machinery on construction sites across New Zealand.
- Conduct daily prestart checks to ensure equipment is in optimal working order.
- Perform hydrovac excavation efficiently while following safety and environmental regulations.
- Assist with manual labor tasks, including lifting, carrying, shoveling, and spotting for machinery.
- Support other trades on-site to ensure project efficiency.
- Perform routine maintenance and report any faults with plant and equipment.
- Engage in site cleaning and general housekeeping to maintain a safe working environment.
- Collect and deliver materials as needed.

- Willingness to receive ongoing training to expand skills and competence.
- Have a current Full Class 4 License
