Job Summary:
The Head of Retail at The Pool House is responsible for managing the retail branch, ensuring excellent customer service, overseeing stock management, and driving sales to meet company goals. This role requires a proactive leader with strong organisational skills, a passion for customer satisfaction, and the ability to motivate a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Serve customers and ensure a high level of satisfaction.
- Stock Management: Place orders for stock/parts required, count received stock, and process it through the system with a tax invoice. Ensure all products are priced correctly and maintain display shelves.
- Inventory Control: Check what is on order and report monthly to ensure all goods received have been processed. Make sure stock has the correct barcode and price labels before stocking shelves.
- Shop Operations: Enter shop stock transfers to other departments, assist with stock takes, and daily balancing of the cash till and EFTPOS terminal with shop sales.
- Pool Enquiries: Assist with pool enquiries over the telephone or with visitors to the pool display using the company script to ensure accurate, consistent information is given to prospective pool purchasers.
- Communication: Assist with answering the telephone and daily checking and replying to shop emails.
- Client Assistance: Assist clients with quotes on new pool covers and robotic cleaners. Follow up on outstanding payments over 7 days as requested from accounts.
- Maintenance: Partakes in the roster for cleaning the pools and maintaining the pool display area. Participate in hygiene cleaning duties
- Information Management: Keep the information table tidy and full of supplier brochures.
- Water Testing: Test pool and spa water, analyse results, give advice, and sell chemicals based on the water tests.
- Integration: Get familiar with the company’s operations, policies, and procedures.
- Team Building: Build strong relationships with the team and understand their strengths and areas for development.
- Performance Goals: Set and achieve initial performance goals, focusing on improving customer service and sales.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Current Team: 2 staff members work during the week, and 3 staff members work on weekends during the summer.
- Industry Experience: Ideally, experience in the pool industry, but not essential.
- Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office and retail management software, strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
