We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Accountant to join our team and play a crucial role in supporting financial operations. In this position, you will work closely with the Lead – Finance and Administration whilst reporting to the CEO,  to ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain internal controls, and assist with various financial tasks to help the organisation operate smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and monitor internal controls and policies to ensure accurate financial recording.
  • Participate in meetings to gather necessary information and contribute to anticipating future organisational needs.
  • Oversee funding contracts, ensuring accurate resource delivery, budgeting, and timely invoicing.
  • Manage contract periods to align staff employment with funding schedules.
  • Ensure accurate allocation of income and expenses for each contract and report to relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate on monthly reporting, including statements of financial performance, financial position, capital expenditure, and cashflow forecasts.
  • Provide back-up support for payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable as needed.
General Duties and Responsibilities:

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
  • Xero accounting software proficiency is essential.
  • 5+ years’ experience in accounts payable/receivable and financial reporting.
  • Strong organisational skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent numerical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Advanced computer skills with the ability to quickly learn new software.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to report and share information accurately.
